Winter Lake Acess Trail System
Unlike
any other lake in North Dakota, Devils Lake provides anglers an
extensive trail system to provide road access to the lake and onto
the ice itself. The Winter Lake Access Committee, a group of volunteers of the Chamber
of Commerce, administers the program. The trails don't go
everywhere, but we do try to get you to the hot spots or traditionally
consistent areas of the lake.
~ENTER
AT YOUR OWN RISK~
The
trails are maintained based on current ice conditions, fishing activity
and weather conditions. BE AWARE! Weather conditions on the lake can and will temporarily close trails.
Trails will be re-opened as soon as conditions warrant. The
Devils Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, its committees and members
assume no liability in our efforts to maintain trails on Devils
Lake. It is the responsibility of the user to determine current
ice conditions, weather conditions, locate and avoid natural or
man made hazards. We ask that if you use the trails, you get
at least 100 feet from the trail before drilling any holes or placing
an ice house.
PLEASE
SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS
Unlike
similar trail systems in other communities that charge a per-day
fee, these trails are free to its users.
The community raises the funds from business donations and voluntary
membership association. If you visit Devils Lake and use the
trails, we would appreciate your support. Become a member
of the Lake Access Association for only $10/year by sending your
$10 donation to:

are used for plowing and maintaining the Lake Region Ice Trails.
