Paula has been the Executive Director of the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce for close to 10 years, and each day brings with it new challenges, along with a feeling of gratitude! She gets to work alongside a team of amazing people who make her job look easy. At the Chamber her role consists of working with state and local government agencies to advocate for Devils Lake and the North Dakota Business community. She works closely with a board of directors for the continued success of the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce established over 96 years ago. Her job consists of promoting and planning events, communicating, and securing new membership, all while retaining the current membership.
As the Executive Director of the Devils Lake Chamber, we took a lead role in the Downtown Revitalization effort starting back in 2014. In 2020 the Main Street Excellence Urban Award was given to the City of Devils Lake recognizing Devils Lake for being a strong, resilient community. The Chamber of Commerce plays a lead role in the campaign to keep Devils Lake dollars local through our Chamber Bucks program. We continue to thrive to keep Devils Lake dollars local and educate the community on the importance of shopping local. Along with her team they came up with the idea for a monthly educational series called “Coffee and Collaborate” Seeds to Success, inviting people to enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin while listening to a different educational topic each month.
Paula and her husband are very active in the community, and in March 2018, she was awarded one of the Top 25 Women in Business in North Dakota. She currently serves on the board of the Lake Region Heritage Center, and a member of the Great North Dakota Chamber of Commerce. During her free time, Paula and her husband of 40+ years love to travel and spend time on the lake with family and friends.
