Spark Award: Heidi Becker of Gate City Bank 2025 Chamber Spark Award Recipient Heidi Becker

This year, we are excited to introduce a brand-new honor: The Chamber of Commerce Spark Award. This award recognizes a volunteer or Chamber Ambassador who truly ignites our mission—someone whose leadership, passion, and enthusiasm spark inspiration in others and help fuel the work of the Chamber every single day.

The Spark Award celebrates individuals who lead with purpose, live out our core values, and bring undeniable energy and positivity to everything they do.

This year’s recipient exemplifies that spirit in every way. She is deeply engaged in our community and wears more hats than most of us can count. She serves as a dedicated Chamber Ambassador and contributes her leadership on several boards, including the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee, where she represents the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). And if there’s a Chamber event happening—you can count on her being there, not just attending, but pitching in, connecting people, and lifting others up.

She is intentional in her actions, creative in her ideas, and consistently the first to ask, “How can I help?”

Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Award: Devils Lake High School 2025 Community Impact Award Recipient Devils Lake High School

This year, our Chamber embarked on one of the most significant initiatives in our organization’s history—the Regional Workforce Impact Program. It was more than just a grant; it was a call to action to build pathways for our youth, strengthen our talent pipeline, and ensure that the future of the Lake Region is filled with opportunity.

As we began this work, we quickly realized that success would depend not just on funding—but on partnerships. Partnerships with organizations who were willing to do more than show up. We needed those who were ready to lead alongside us, innovate with us, and invest in the future of our community.

That is why tonight we are presenting a special honor—the Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Award. This award is not given every year. It exists to recognize that rare level of partnership and commitment that creates meaningful, measurable impact on the quality of life in the Lake Region.

This year’s recipient did more than say “yes”—they said, “What else can we do?” From day one, they brought ideas, energy, and unwavering support to our workforce initiative. They opened doors, offered resources, and helped us turn concepts into real solutions that will serve our students, our employers, and our entire community for years to come.

Their dedication helped us launch new talent-attraction strategies, empower youth with real career pathways, and most importantly—ensure that the next generation sees Devils Lake not just as their hometown, but as their future.

Because of their leadership, collaboration, and belief in what’s possible when we work together, the Lake Region is stronger today—and better positioned for tomorrow.

It is with deep appreciation and great pride that we recognize the outstanding impact of this year’s honoree.
