Devils Lake Chamber & Tourism | Summer 2026

This isn’t your typical internship. You won’t be stuck doing busywork, you’ll be creating real marketing content, supporting major events, and helping shape how people experience Devils Lake. You’ll gain hands-on experience across tourism marketing, community engagement, and content creation all while contributing to real projects that promote our region.

We’re here to share just how great our community is and you’ll help tell that story!

What You’ll Do

You’ll gain experience across multiple areas of marketing and tourism:

  • Create and collect content for social media (your ideas matter)
  • Capture photos and video that showcase Devils Lake
  • Assist with marketing efforts across platforms (social, website)
  • Help promote and execute community events
  • Welcome and assist visitors
  • Learn and operate a retail point of sale system
  • Support major events, including:
    • Devils Run
    • Chamber Walleye Tournament
    • Chamber Golf Tournament
    • Fish Fry & Corn Feed (potentially)
  • Collaborate with local businesses and partners
  • Assist with additional marketing and Chamber projects as needed

Major Internship Projects

These are your core responsibilities—projects you’ll take the lead on:

  • Enhance Google Business Listings
Improve visibility for Chamber member businesses by updating, optimizing, and enriching their Google listings.
  • Organize & Manage Digital Content
Build a usable, searchable photo and video library by organizing, tagging, and sorting our Google Drive assets.
  • Visitor Center Inventory Management
Maintain retail and brochure inventory to support a welcoming, well-stocked visitor experience.

Skills We’re Looking For

We’re hiring based on skills and mindset, not just experience:

  • Interest in marketing, tourism, or content creation
  • Strong organization skills (especially digital content/files)
  • Comfortable interacting with people (visitors, businesses, partners)
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through
  • Creative eye for storytelling (photo, video, writing)

Bonus (not required):

  • Experience with CapCut, TikTok, or short-form video editing
  • Familiarity with social media platforms or content planning

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world marketing experience (not “intern tasks”)
  • Content for your portfolio
  • Experience working with businesses, events, and tourism
  • A better understanding of how marketing actually works
  • A résumé-builder that stands out
