Golf Tournaments at Creel Bay
Creel Bay golf course has 12 tournaments on their schedule for summer 2020, each supporting a different community organization and offering unique games and prizes making all of them a fun outing with friends, family, or colleagues.
Most tournaments are played in a four person team scramble; fees vary depending on the tournament with several of them having options to also sponsor a hole or purchase extra raffle tickets. Golf Carts are not included in the tournament prices and you must contact Creel Bay Golf Course at 662-2408 prior to each tournament to reserve a cart if you need to rent one.
Devils Lake Blue Line Club Scramble- June 28th
How far do you think you can drive a golf ball while wearing hockey gloves? The Devils Lake Blue Line Club 4-person golf tournament scramble is scheduled for Friday June 28, 2020 starting with hole one as a longest drive contest wearing hockey gloves. There are also prizes for longest putt, closest to the pin, and a chipping and putting contest with hockey sticks. You could also WIN A CAR with a hole in one contest sponsored by Bergstrom Cars.
Grab your 4-person team and register for the 18 hole tournament, shotgun start at 12pm with free lunch starting at 11am. Register at Creel Bay Golf Course or at www.dlblueline.com.
A purse raffle drawing will also be held following the tournament, tickets can be purchased at the tournament or through the Blue Line Club beforehand.

Lake Region State College Annual Booster Club Scramble- July 10th
A great way to end an 18-hole golf scramble is with a delicious pork loin meal with all the fixings and a drink. The Lake Region State College Booster Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for July 10th. This is a four person golf scramble has a 12pm start time with registration and lunch starting at 10am-12pm. There will be prizes for Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive, closest to the pin, and longest putt where you will pick your prize from a prize table. There will also be a $10,000 hole in one contest for all participating golfers and $2,500 sixty foot Putt for one contestant that will be randomly drawn to participate in from the tournament entries.
The tournament also features a raffle where you can purchase a ticket for $50 for a chance to win over 75 different prizes including cash, gift cards, guns, a 50' TV and the grand prize of a golf cart.
If you don’t want to golf you can come to the dinner at 5pm for $20 a ticket. There will be prize boards and a meat raffle going on throughout the tournament as well that anyone can participate in.

Lake Region S.W.A.T 3rd Annual Golf Scramble- July 17th
Have you ever been thrown in jail while golfing in a tournament? You just might get pulled over by the golf cart police (if you are willing) and have your team mates bail you out of the paddy wagon or have to make your golf shots wearing hand cuffs during the third annual Lake Region S.W.A.T golf scramble on Friday July 17th.
This tournament is also unique as it is two simultaneous nine-hole tournaments going on at the same time making it a shorter event for each team. There will be prizes for 1st and second place, and two winners for the following categories: closest to the pin, men’s longest drive, women’s longest drive, and longest putt.
This tournament is non-serious and meant for fun and a great way to support the Lake Region Law enforcement and a chance for law enforcement staff to connect with the community in a fun way. There are several free prizes given away during the tournament.
There will also be raffle tickets for purchase with great prizes.

Devils Lake Elks Tournament- July 24th
Think you could make a hole in one during a golf tournament? Join the Elk 1216 Devils Lake Chapter for their annual 18-hole par 3 four-person scramble on July 24th. This tournament features three hole in one contests where you can win amazing prizes like a vacation, cash, and gift cards.
The tournament registration starts at 12pm with a 1pm shotgun start. Burgers and brats will be served immediately after the tournament at the Elks Lodge.

10th Annual CHI St. Alexia’s Health Golf Sports Classic- July 31st
Get your PARscription filled at the CHI Golf Sports Classic scheduled for Friday July 31st. The nine-hole four-person scramble is supports the ER Renovation project at CHI Alexia in Devils Lake. Registration and free lunch starts at 12pm with a shotgun tournament start at 1pm. Lunch will be pulled pork sandwiches served hot, coleslaw, chips, pickle and a cookie served in individual to go boxes.
You can purchase a really fun PARscription bottle that includes a mulligan, a tee where men can use once to tee off at the women’s tee box or women can re-tee off, and a string where you can move your ball anywhere on the green the length of the string towards the hole. There are contests for men and women’s longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin as well as an extra chipping contest you can enter.

A purse raffle drawing will also be held following the tournament, tickets can be purchased at the tournament or through the hospital beforehand. There will also be a basket raffle where you can purchase tickets for a dollar each and place your ticket in the bag in front of the basket you want to win.

Thirsty’s Golf Tournament- August 1st
Ever play a tournament where several holes have coolers filled with beer on them for you to grab while you are playing? The Thirsty’s Annual Golf Scramble now dedicated as the Shane Burthold Memorial Tournament is a four person, 18 hole scramble scheduled on Saturday August 1st with 10am registration and an 11am start time. There are contest for men’s and women’s longest drive and closest to the pin. The tournament also includes a putting contest called Slapper for Shane. And you heard that right- beer is provided on the course during the tournament by Jerome Wholesale. Several teams dress up for the tournament and it is an all-around fun tournament with several prizes.
Following the tournament you can head to Thirsty’s Bar and Grill downtown for a delicious smoked rib dinner and brats.

Creel Bay Couples Tournament- August 2nd
Grab a partner and join the Creel Bay Golf course for their annual couple’s tournament. You partner does not have to be your spouse but if you are golfing with your spouse, this tournament may be a test to your marriage. The nine-hole tournament features three holes of scramble, three holes of best ball, and three holes of alternate shot. Score are kept per your two person team.
There are cash prizes for the top two couples in each flight.
The tournament starts at 2pm with registration starting at 1pm, you can register at the golf course.

14th Annual Devils Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament- August
14th
The Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is a great way to support the community and it is also a great tournament to sponsor a hole as a Chamber member for some great advertising and support for the Chamber. Bring you’re a-game and set up a fun game on the hole for prizes. Giveaway swag to teams and have fun!! The four-person, 18-hole scramble tournament is scheduled for Friday, August 14th with 11am registration and lunch with a shot gun start at 12pm.
There are a number of activities scheduled during the tournament.
A dinner and social is held following the tournament with prizes given away for men’s and women’s longest drive, putt, and closest to the pin as well as tournament winner. Mulligans can be purchased pre-tournament to up your game.
This tournament is a fun way to mingle with other businesses and to get out and enjoy the day!

Creel Bay Club Championship- August 23rd and 24th
Every year the Creel Bay Golf Course hosts a club championship tournament for both men and women. Think you have what it takes to be crowned the best golfer of the year for the 2020 season? This a two day tournament and you can sign up at the Creel Bay Golf course and to obtain more details.
FaHoCha Golf Open- September 19th
The main focus of the FaHoCha Bible Camp golf tournament is to raise money for scholarships to send kids to the summer camp. This four person scramble is scheduled for September 19th with a 12 pm start time and a meal is provided following the tournament.
Fahocha bible camp is located by Warwick, ND under 30 miles from Devils Lake. The camp is attended by many students in the Devils Lake area.
