Halloween 2020 might not be exactly as imagined but there are still activities to do around Devils Lake with your family and friends.  Below is a list of what spooky things are available.  Activities are subject to change this year; make sure to check with the venues for updates and if you are out and about this Halloween make sure to take #devilslakend in your social media posts. 

 

Family Activities

Pumpkin Carving Contest with Spirit Lake Grocery

Grab your creative pumpkin carving designs and enter a pumpkin contest hosted by Spirit Lake Grocery.  There are two categories, one for 18 and over and one for 17 and under.  Stop in to Spirit Lake Grocery for registration and assigned number.  Entries will be accepted starting on Monday October 26th at 10am until Friday October 30th until 4pm.  Pictures will be posted individually as they are turned in and voting begins immediately on Facebook.

Lake Region Public Library

Stop into the Lake Region Public Library in Devils Lake to check out a spooky tale to enjoy this Halloween.  The Library also has some spooky displays set up for you to enjoy while picking out a book.

Zombie Halloween Blaster

Devils Lake has a new arcade attraction coming to the area in time for Halloween. The Zombie Blaster shooting gallery will be open for all ages located in the basement of the Masonic Temple.

The Zombie Blaster will be available in groups of 4 and cost is $5 per person.  Tentative dates for the Zombie Blaster will be October 23rd from 6-9, October 24th from 4-9, October 30th from 6 to 11pm, and October 31 from 3pm to 12 am or by appointment.

Downtown Trick or Treating

This Halloween you will have two options for bringing your family to Downtown Devils Lake for activities.

Friday October 30th from 3-6 you can trick or treat at downtown businesses and participate in games inside the stores as well as taking a photo at a selfie wall that will be set up inside Catch 22.  Stop in at Catch 22 located in the Mini Mall or at Just For YOU on 4th Ave NE to pick up for your Broom Trail Map for participating businesses.  Costumes and Masks are strongly encouraged and only store bought individually wrapped candy will be handed out.

Halloween Day Time Play Time with Unlimited Cheer

Unlimited Cheer is hosting a Halloween open gym on Saturday October 31st.  Little ones can jump and tumble while showing off their costume.  Cost is $4 per participant and hours vary by age:  8:30 until 10am- ages 1-5 (preschool age) and 10:30am – 12 for Kindergarten and Up.

Adult Activities

Lake Region Heritage Center Ghost Tours

Spend Halloween night on a search for spooky ghosts around downtown Devils Lake with the Lake Region Heritage Center.  The tour uses ghost finding equipment and takes you inside the Heritage Center as well as several known haunted spots in and under downtown Devils Lake.  Make sure to wear your walking shoes, warm clothes as the tour goes throughout downtown.  Tours start at 8pm, cost is $12 per person and participants must be 18 or older, call the Heritage Center ahead to reserve your spot 701-662-3701.

Lotta’s Bar

Join Lotta’s Bar in downtown Devils Lake for a Halloween party on October 31st starting at 9pm. There will be prizes and drink specials throughout the night and they will also be giving away a trip to Las Vegas during the party.  An entry drawing for the Vegas trip starts at 9pm and runs every hour until 12:00am with the final giveaway being around 12:30am.

Proz End of the Line

Join special guest live singer Michael Pink at Proz End of the Line for their annual Halloween Bash on Saturday October 31st.  There will be costume contests as well as drink specials going on throughout the night.

Thirsty’s Bar and Grill

Join Thirsty’s Bar and Grill in downtown Devils Lake for their annual Halloween costume party.  Prizes and drink specials will be taking place all night.
