New to Cornhole? Don’t fret! We’ve got a few rules, terms, and tips from www.playcornhole.org to get you started!
Play of Game
Every match is broken down into innings of play. The top of the inning is completed when both players at the headboard have pitched all four bags. The bottom of the inning is completed when both players at the footboard have pitched all four bags. The game is over when one team reaches or passes 21 points, winning the game.
Scoring
The approved method of scoring is “cancellation” scoring. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player/team can score in each inning.
There are a couple of ways to score points in cornhole.
Bag -in -the - Hole or “Cornhole:” any bag that is thrown through the hole or is knocked through the hole by another bag. Each Cornhole is worth three (3) points.
Bag - in - the - Count or “Woody:” any bag that comes to rest on the board. Each Woody is worth one (1) point.
Foul Bags: any bag that has not been determined as a woody or a cornhole or was designated a foul bag as the result of a rules violation. (A full list of rules can be found at www.playcornhole.org.)
