The Fort Totten Little Theatre board has been contemplating the choice to continue with the 2020 summer production. Following the Covid-19 Social Gathering Guidelines provided by the North Dakota Department of Health, it is with great excitement and enthusiasm that the decision was made to proceed with an alternate production and location this year.

Limited seating and ability to properly sanitize the theater at the State Historic Site at Fort Totten was a concern and not financially feasible to continue with the previously selected production of “The Producers”. The FTLT board met with Director Peter Foss and Musical Director Emily Bibow to discuss other options including completely cancelling this summer. The directors presented a “Don’t Stop Believing” brainstorm of an idea which left the Board exclaiming, “I Wanna Rock.”

This summer the Lake Region will be Rocking-n-Rolling in an outdoor theatre setting as FORT TOTTEN LITTLE THEATRE will be producing “Rock of Ages.” The show will take place at Roosevelt Park under the Elk’s Band Shelter.

Wikipedia describes, “Rock of Ages is a jukebox musical built around classic rock songs from the 1980s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of that decade. The musical features songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison and Europe, among other well-known rock bands.”

Song lists include:

Waiting for a Girl Like You
Come on Feel the Noize
Harden My Heart
Final Count Down
Any Way you Want it
Oh Sherrie
And Don’t Stop Believing

Seating arrangements are being executed to follow the Social Distancing Guidelines.  We are looking at more group seating arrangements at discounted pricing. Groups of up to 6 people are available in the front on blankets; groups of up to 4 on bleachers and picnic tables and general admission seating where you bring your own chair and sit in designated areas at a safe distance from each other. We are also looking at a Party Deck option where a group of up to 15 can gather before the show and pre party. We plan to safely fill the park each night with a seating capacity of around 200, which is only 50 less than the seating allowance a FTLT.

Arrangements are also being worked out to serve adult beverages, suitably packaged concessions and show merchandise.

The Production would run similar to past year productions in the month of July and will trickle into early August. Tickets will begin being sold at the Liquid Bean and on line at www.forttottenlittletheatre.com on June 15. You will also find the dates for the productions on the website as well.
